Hot Summer Fashions for the Professional Woman

We are in the heart of summer, and temperatures are soaring but we still have to go to work and play hard ball in the ‘ole boys’ (girls) club and look immaculate doing it but the few pennies left in your purse wouldn’t stretch that far. Well ladies, there are online boutiques out there that something for everybody.

If you are like me ... S A L E is my middle name and one of the most frequently used word in the English language ... my favourite. The ‘Sale’ rack is what I peruse first when I walk in to a clothing store and you do find gold nuggets on the ‘Sale’ rack.  In addition, if you want great designer clothing and accessories for less visit Designer Discount Club.

My Picks

  1. If you have to the leave the office to go into the sweltering heat outside then a coloured (I prefer white) cap sleeve top along with a black skirt would be perfect. I know what you’re thinking! That top is too casual for the office but if you dress it up with let’s say a long black beaded necklace and a bold gray or black opal cuff bracelet that would make all the difference in the world ... I dare you to try it!
  2. The cream Allison Parris crepe cropped blouse and brown Allison Parris silk wrap skirt is my second choice if you like playing it safe but with a wisp of edginess. For this ensemble, the least jewelry you wear, the better. Just a pair of ear-rings would do.
  3. I couldn’t resist it! I have to include the smoking dark gray Gala & Kardi tunic, which would go perfectly with white pants or skirt. Be aware however, this tunic has holes and you would want to avoid the colored bras. For the office or workplace a black or dark gray sleeveless tank (vest) top under this tunic would be more appropriate. To accessorize, a long white or black & white beaded necklace and matching ear-rings would complete the look.

Designer Discount Club carries a wide range of beautiful and exquisite clothing, as well as bold and unique pieces of jewelry at up to 70% off if you join the club now.  There is something to fit anyone’s pocket. All it calls for is a little imagination!

CSI Miami 2.0.1.1

My fellow CSI Miami fans, I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I read in an article recently that Adam Rodriguez is returning to CSI Miami for the 2011 season. If that is true ... yippy! yeah! I haven't been watching the 2010 season just because he wasn't on it.

Let's face it! They 'All Fall Down' and the show lost momentum simply because Adam wasn't on it, and it was good of the producers to wise-up early and get him back on the show. Eddie Cibrian is cute and all but I think he lost a little credibility due the infidelity scandal that surrounded him. David Caruso has his own unique brand of charisma and the 'ole faithfuls' hung in there because of him.

The 2011 season should be interesting. As I understand it, Eric Delko is returning full-time to the crime lab, but, as mole for the State Attorney's office ... huuumm!

Hello! Producers! More Alexx Woods (Kandi Alexander) sightings, please! Thanks! That I think should boost rates and heat up the evenings. What do you think my fellow Delko-freaks? Oops! Sorry! My fellow CSI Miami fans.

Book Review - Serenity Cove

Serenity Cove is a gripping romantic novel that is set solely in the Caribbean and the story goes back and forth between the islands of Dominica and Barbados. Sandy and Jonathan, the novel’s two central characters met at the fictitious Serenity Cove Hotel in Dominica, where Sandy was vacationing from her highly stressful business, and where Jonathan was one of the hotel’s managers. The attraction was immediate but their fire and ice personalities would put that attraction to the test.

Sandy was a young, driven, black Barbadian woman with a volatile and stubborn personality that tapered and matured over time, yet insecurities still lingered. Jonathan was a white Canadian man with rich Barbadian ancestry (Barbadian/Canadian). He is a very handsome, laid-back, easy-going guy yet passively aggressive when it came to claiming what he wants from life.

Cherylann Greene, the author, made this novel extra interesting by bending the rules of courtship and defied the status quo as laid down by the powers that be in Christian circles.  These two strong personalities had to overcome their racial differences and faulty personality traits - making the story uniquely theirs.

You would also fall in love with Sandy’s best friend Marky, whose personality is sunshine with a dash of cold, harsh reality checks. Jonathan’s grandparents and an unexpected visit from his mother and an ex-girlfriend, adds to the twists and turns of this incredible novel.
